Introduction of CDM Nerd
Man, it has been a crazy Summer. I don't think I'm alone when I say "I wasn't expecting that". Although this pandemic changed a lot of my plans I still got to have an interesting experience. Firstly, I had a few repeats to complete to get into year 2 but I won't bore you with the facts about that. All you need to know is I passed.
Anyway I passed I was rewarded with a staycation. So me, my sister and my mam and dad decided to hot the road and travel around Ireland. So the first county we went to was Galway.
So the first night in Galway was lovely. We arrived there around 5, so it wasn't time for dinner yet. So we decided to go for a walk to Salthill to kill some time. The weather was fairly shocking when we got there so we just decided to turn back. We still had a bit of time before dinner so went for a swim in the pool. When we got back it was time to get changed and head down for dinner.

The next morning we went to the gym before breakfast. After that we went to discover Galway city. We went around shopping and then got some food for lunch. When we headed back we got dresses really quickly and headed to a Spanish tapas restaurant called "The Black Cat". The food there was lovely.

The next and final day we spent in Galway we took a boat ride to the Aran Islands. We spent the whole cycling around and exploring the island.

The next day we had planned to head to Dingle in Kerry. But on the way there my parents surprised me with visiting the Father Ted house based where the show was. That was definitely a highlight of the trip to me. After that we continued on the drive to dingle. For the next few days we stayed in a cottage. We went to a fish restaurant that night.

The next day we went on a boat ride to visit the famous dolphin who lives in dingle called "Funghi". We only spent 2 days here.
The next stop was Killrush in county Cork. Here we stayed in a very nice and fancy apartment. We got there fairly late so we went and got pizza in an Italian restaurant to celebrate my sisters leaving cert results. Then when we got back we watch a movie on Netflix. The next day we went to the beach and spent the entire day there soaking up all the rays of sunshine.
We headed to our 4th and final destination the next day. We decided to finally climb to the to the top slievenamon which I had never completed. We were driving to my grannies in Clonmel in Tipperary to celebrate her birthday. We took her out for Dinner to a fancy restaurant in Cashel.

Then after spending the night in her house it was time for the staycation to end and for us to head home and go back and face reality. Although the year as a whole had a few upsetting moments, I still loved my staycations.

Hey Cian, good to see you got all the repeats sorted out and you're still with us. Looks like you had a pretty interesting staycation, too bad about the weather though.
ReplyDeleteStill, it seems you got to do quite a lot with your holiday, so at least it wasn't a wasted summer. Very jealous you got to visit the father Ted house.
Hey Cian! Thats great that you passed all your repeats, fair play to you. I guess I'll be seeing you whenever we get back into the campus then. Aaron Goodman can't wait for your's and his reunion. Looks like you had a great staycation, jealous I dint get to do the same. The father ted house is definitely a goal of mine to go visit. Anyways, enjoyed really enjoyed the blog.
ReplyDeleteHey Cian, hope your doing well. I'm glad to see you in second year, fair play to you for getting through first year and the repeats it shows great determination and motivation for the course that will certainly stand by you in the future. I really enjoyed reading your introduction post and getting to know more about you. The layout and appearance of your blog is great and it is very easy to navigate through.
ReplyDeleteHowdy Cian!
ReplyDeleteSounds very nice. Galway was in the book but me a couple others decided to head to Westport instead. Was hoping for a trip full of antics but unfortunately it wasn't as sporadic as expected. Nice to head you had a good time. Hopefully next year we'll be able to do something a little more interesting but do love a bit of Ireland also!
Hi Cian
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I have to say wow you realy went all over the place didn't you. Sorry to hear you had to do repeats but at lest you made it through it. It looks like you had a lot of fun this summer when I was younger me and my family would go to disney land in France but now we rarely go anywhere, maby the beach but that's all.
Hi Cian,
ReplyDeleteFirst I would like to say I really enjoyed reading your introduction blog post. You really went all over the country with your staycation didn't you lucky you, furthest I got was over to my mates gardens. Sorry to hear you had to do repeats but you passed them and your here now that's the main thing. I really enjoyed your vlog. Hope you and your family are keeping well.
Hi Cian! I enjoyed reading about your trip. I went to Galway over the summer and I found it so beautiful. I haven't been to another county in a long while so it's a nice, quaint place to stay over. Keep making those youtube videos you have a lot of talent! I would love to own a car someday so I can explore more of Ireland. There's so many places that are way more beautiful than boring old Dublin - Anna Zurawska
ReplyDeleteHi Cian, glad to see you managed to save some of your summer. I stopped in Galway this summer too! I did a few trips around Ireland myself and completely forgot how interesting and beautiful our country is. Well done on passing! God knows it was hard enough to get out of bed let alone do work last semester. At least we're a bit more used to it this year.
