My Favourite Game

Through my childhood I was always interested in video games. Among all games the ones I found most joy out of and played most were games about solving puzzles or creating objects from having essentially nothing. So for this blog I can easily say my favourite game was Minecraft.

Minecraft was created by the company "Microsoft" and "MOJANG".

I enjoy this game a lot because of the graphics. The graphics in this game are very simple. Every single thing created in this game is made from a cube shape including your own character. What I like about this aspect is it shows how basic your game can be and that graphics don't define how well a game will do in sales. This is nice especially for this module because we have to complete our own game.

This a game where there is no set storyline which gives you the freedom to do whatever you like. There is 2 modes in the game: survival mode and creative mode.

Survival Mode:

In survival mode the objective is to basically survive. You spawn in a new terrain created and you have to collect supplies to help you survive as long as possible. These would include supplies for a house, a swords, a bed and food. Survival mode is hard because you can be killed by a few creatures. These creatures would include: Creepers, Skeletons, Zombies, Spiders and Endermen.

Creative Mode:

In creative mode you have all the supplies so you don't have to look around or make supplies that may be difficult to find or make. This is very handy if you're trine make big projects like a roller coaster, castle or just wanna mess around with different ideas.

The handy part about having both of these modes is no matter what mode you were playing in originally you can change to another mode mid game.

A great thing about this game is there is an online feature. This allows you and your friend to play together on different consoles in different area.

Since this game had its first release date: May 17th, 2009, it has been released on many consoles such as  Xbox, Playstation, Computer and phone. They also released a story mode version of the game on the 13th of October, 2015.

  1. Hey Cian,
Minecraft is a classic and it was a huge part of my life, I remember playing it in early alpha stage back in 2009 and i continued to play it for years, I still hop on it from time to time and play it with my girlfriend. Its great and I loved creative mode building the weird stuff and blowing stuff up was how i spent most my days back then.

  2. Hi Cian! I love minecraft, I've been playing it constantly these couple of weeks to put my mind at ease from college for a little bit. Mojang added a lot since they took over the game and there's so many new things coming out like new cave systems etc.. So I'm really excited to say the least. I've been playing a little bit after it came out and It was a fun experience. - Anna Zurawska

  3. Hi Cian, I used to be a fan of Minecraft to! It really is a great game. I haven't played it in years but when I was younger, me and my brothers and sister used to spend hours on end just exploring or creating new worlds. I definitely have to give the game another chance, as its been so long. I'm glad to hear you like it as much as I used to, its a great game.
